Not to be snarky or anything but how is there a “demand void” if other providers have offered direct linking for years?

You?  Snarky?

As I said, “Indeed, not all of Performics’ competitors offer such flexibility.” Not all as in “some do.”

I’ll let Dan speak for Performics.

Also, let’s be honest.  “Other” providers (outside of CJ, Performics, Linkshare) have a difficult time getting placed on the “to be considered” list historically speaking when marketers shop for providers.  I call this the “snooty retailer factor.” ;)

Just to add a bit more context around my statement, I said that when Performics was founded nearly ten years ago, “we pioneered the full service model for affiliate marketing, as opposed to being known as a technology pioneer.”

Now, with the resources of DoubleClick behind us, we believe that we can truly be technology leaders as well.

And you call me snarky. :)

I do applaud Performics for being the only one of the big 3 that still cares about technology, and I also give big kudos to Dan for modestly portraying his company’s position as aspiring to better technology rather than being the technology leader—I’m sure none of the other big networks (outside of Brian at SAS) would be as honest.

I’m done being sour grapish on this post, I just thought “void” misrepresented the situation.
