I am constantly talking about how cathartic it is to do simple compliance. With programs being small and tight as they are these days, it’s not as difficult as it seems. You wind up being the hero if you uncover something before either your lawyers, someone else’s lawyers, or the government does, and you just know more about who it is you’re partnered with. And the affiliates like it too - because you can talk to them about specifics that deal with their site.
Most good aff managers know their top affiliates. Which is a good start. But it’s equally good to know your worst affiliates and how they’re presenting your brand.
I think with some of the larger affiliate programs, or worse - ones that either are CPA networks or work with them - this process seems daunting. Perhaps impossible. And I suppose it could impact revenue. So I think my points sometimes fall on deaf ears.
